Stained Glass Coastal Wall Art

Created as a special personal commission, this striking stained glass landscape transforms photographs of a much-loved coastal scene into an intricate work of art. Handcrafted using our lead overlay technique over a mirror surface, the 122 × 91 cm composition brings together sweeping skies, flowing waves and finely detailed stonework. Translucent colours reveal the reflective depth beneath, while opaque shades create rich contrasts, giving the landscape a luminous presence and a sense of movement.

🧩 MATERIALS

Mirror surface, coloured glass overlays, lead, soldering and protective patina finish.

🎨 COLOUR AND TEXTURE

Deep cobalt and sapphire blues flow into turquoise and sea-green, balanced by emerald, moss and olive across the hillside. Golden sand, warm amber and earthy browns soften the shoreline, while creamy whites and silvery greys trace the clouds, sea foam and castle. Some colours are richly opaque, while others are more transparent, revealing the reflective depth beneath and shifting beautifully as the light changes throughout the day.

🖌️CRAFTSMANSHIP

Individually handcrafted using our lead overlay stained glass technique on a mirror surface, this artwork combines decorative coloured overlays with carefully shaped leadwork, hand-soldered joints and a patina finish. Fully leaded edges give the piece a defined outline.

All our wall art pieces are finished with a protective backing board and strong picture cord, ready to hang.

This and any of our designs can also be made as a window panel, using glass instead of mirror, with leadwork, hand-soldered joints and a patina finish on both sides, completed with fully leaded edges.

📏 SIZE

122 x 91 cm

Every bespoke artwork is unique, with its own level of detail and craftsmanship. The price shown is for the featured design at 122 × 91 cm. Other commissions are quoted individually according to size, design complexity and delivery destination.

🖼️ Ready to Hang

Each artwork is fitted with a strong picture cord on the back and arrives ready to hang. Some pieces can be quite heavy, so please ensure suitable wall fixings are used for the weight of the piece and your wall type.

🛠️ Handcrafted Quality

◦ Carefully constructed using individually cut coloured elements, with every joint fully soldered for added strength and durability.

◦ The lead is finished with a dark protective patina which enhances the overall appearance while helping protect against oxidation over time.

◦ Our pieces are fully leaded around the entire border, removing sharp exposed edges and creating a safer, more refined finish.

◦ Each mirror is securely backed and reinforced to ensure stability, longevity and lasting quality — designed not only as decoration, but as a handcrafted piece of art made to last.

✨ CUSTOM & BESPOKE

Each piece is individually handcrafted to order in our Scottish workshop. This design, like all our designs, can also be made as a stained glass window panel and adapted to your preferred size and colour palette. Please contact us to discuss your ideas and receive a quotation.

We offer bespoke and custom designs based on any piece within our collection, or entirely from your own ideas.

◦ As each piece is entirely handcrafted, slight variations in lines and textures form part of its unique character.
